The idea of Everything Umpqua started in the summer of 2013, when Sam was sitting in his new restaurant, contemplating how he could attract more customers. Sam knew that he wanted a loyalty program but didn’t like the drawbacks of punch cards. He also wanted to have a wide variety of events, but worried about how to get the word out. Sam, also knew that many other businesses in town were facing the same problems. That’s when he reached out to his best friend from college, Vikram, and the idea began to form.
The two of them spent the next few months assessing the needs of retailers and customers. They determined that most businesses need a larger and more frequent customer base, a way to showcase specific products and services, and the ability to reward their customers for their loyalty. For customers, their biggest needs center on feeling appreciated for spending their hard earned money and access to information. They need to know where to buy and save on the things they want and where to go to have fun and engage with their community.
Out of these requirements, Everything Umpqua was born. Now, we are out and about in Douglas County, Oregon, helping link together businesses and the communities they serve. We are here to help and welcome all the feedback we can get!
Sam is a small town guy with big dreams. In addition to Everything Umpqua, Sam is the owner of two family-run restaurants, Loggers Pizza and Loggers Tap House. He is also a business advisor with the local small business development center (SBDC). He earned his B.S. in Business from the University of Oregon and an MBA from Babson College. Sam is also a former Army Captain, who served in Afghanistan.

Vikram comes from the world of finance and is looking to make a difference to the small business community. Through his investing experience, he brings a focus on sound capital allocation and maintaining a lean and efficient operation. Vikram earned an MBA from Babson College and is a CFA charter holder.
Pamela enjoys helping business owners to gain more visibility with traditional and digital marketing. Relationship building and community involvement are her strong suits. She is an empathetic and outgoing professional with more than 15 years of marketing, customer service, sales, communication and administrative business skills.
In her former position as Executive Director of the Sutherlin Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, as a member of Sutherlin Downtown Development, Inc. (SDDI) and the Transient Room Tax (TRT) Committees; she enjoyed the opportunity to learn, share and implement ideas that have enhanced the community.
